About
I’m Stephanie. My main journal is over on Livejournal, but I’ve decided to make a separate blog for my movie reviews.
I’m not all that articulate when it comes to my movie reviews, but I’m going to try to work on it.
Obviously, I’m a big movie buff. I may be only in my early 20s, but I grew up watching old television shows such as Hogan’s Heroes, Bewitched, Mr. Ed, Green Acres, etc, etc, and old Hollywood classics.
When working my way through the AFI Top 100 List, I watched Mr. Smith Goes To Washington (1939) and thus began my great love for one Jimmy Stewart.
Back sometime in 2007 I watched the Bollywood film Rangeela (1995), which I adored. I slowly but surely got into Bollywood and as of early August 2009 I have seen over 200 Bollywood films.
I may mainly watch Bollywood, but I’m not one who will say no to watching a film simply because it’s from a different country than what I usually watch. Aside from Bollywood and old Hollywood, I also enjoy silent films, Asian cinema (China/Japan/South Korea), Tollywood, and I even have a few Iranian films.
I’ll watch anything – granted that it sounds interesting, isn’t going to cost me an arm and a leg to get, and has subtitles if it’s not in English.
Some of my favorite films include Mr. Smith Goes To Washington (1939), The Invisible Man (1931), Mughal-E-Azam (1960), and Hero (2002).
